Find the project that creates the work.
A company needs a real reason to exist. Start with a problem, opportunity or project valuable enough that people, roles and systems can form around it.
Before ITMagix became a company, its direction was shaped by a simple shift in perspective: jobs exist because someone first creates the project, the opportunity and the work.
Do not only look for the next place to work. Learn how to create work that gives other people a place to contribute.
Early in the journey, the goal was familiar: find a better role, move to a stronger company and keep progressing. A respected senior executive answered a request for help finding that next opportunity with a different question.
Why are people standing in line for jobs?
Because the company has work to do.
Why does the company have work?
Because there is a project. Find the project, and you begin creating the work around it.
That logic became the first entrepreneurial framework behind ITMagix: project → work → people → organization → growth.
The early advice was practical rather than motivational. It answered three different questions: where a company begins, when to take the risk and how to prepare for it.
A company needs a real reason to exist. Start with a problem, opportunity or project valuable enough that people, roles and systems can form around it.
Do not wait indefinitely for a perfect moment. Earlier stages of life can offer more flexibility to test, fail, learn and begin again before responsibilities become heavier.
Experience across companies, teams and functions can become preparation for leadership—because running a company requires understanding more than one narrow role.
ITMagix marks June 13, 2008 as its formal starting milestone. The beginning was modest: a small setup, a few systems, early client work and the decision to build a technology company through execution rather than appearance.
From there, the work itself became the teacher. Every project exposed another part of what a technology business needed to understand.
When design took too long, the response was to learn design well enough to understand the work and ask better questions. When documentation mattered, technical writing became another discipline to learn. Technology, project execution, sales and other functions followed the same pattern.
The objective was never to become the person who does everything. It was to understand the critical work well enough to recognize quality, guide people responsibly and connect execution to the business outcome around it.

Client work sharpened execution: understand the requirement, manage constraints, coordinate people, deliver reliably and remain accountable for the outcome.
Product experiments widened the questions. Good software still needs the right users, timing, market knowledge, sales motion, operating model and commercial discipline.
Product development made one lesson increasingly clear: technology alone does not create adoption. Market knowledge, customer access, sales, timing, domain understanding and execution outside the codebase matter just as much.
That realization changed how ITMagix thought about growth. The question was no longer only “What can we build?” It became “Who should we build with, and what complementary capability makes the whole idea stronger?”
As the company matured, another model became increasingly important: combine strengths instead of trying to own every strength internally.
A strong idea may come from an industry specialist, operator, entrepreneur or company that understands the market deeply. ITMagix can contribute technology, execution and product capability. When interests are aligned, both sides can build more than either could build alone.
The principle is simple: bring complementary capability together, create value together and grow together.
The sequence has evolved, but the logic is still visible in how ITMagix thinks about opportunities, people, products and long-term technology value.
Our Story explains where the thinking began. The rest of About ITMagix shows how that thinking is being carried forward today.
